God's Word does not justify either its annual celebration, but condemns austerely in Galatians 4:10,11: " Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labor in vain ". So the observance itself, as it is pious or rebellious, is condemned.
Galatians 4:10-11 10 You observe [particular] days and months and seasons and years! 11 I am alarmed [about you], lest I have labored among and over you to no purpose and in vain. AMP The blessed Savior did not come to see to it that His birth (...) is popularized by the world. ... " that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. (1 Timothy 1:15) " Christ died for the ungodly ". (Romans 5:6) 1 Timothy 1:15 15 The saying is sure and true and worthy of full and universal acceptance, that Christ Jesus (the Messiah) came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost.
AMP Romans 5:6 6 While we were yet in weakness [powerless to help ourselves], at the fitting time Christ died for (in behalf of) the ungodly. AMP Nobody knows when the Christ was born. Clément, in the second century, considered as "superstitious" the speculations as for date. Origène, in A.D. 245, made a fool of the idea and said that it was a sin. The church of Rome, in the fifth century, records: " no certainty existed ". In the New International Encyclopedia, we find: " we do not know exactly when it has origin... almost certain that December 25 th cannot be the date.
The New Catholic Encyclopedia reports: " however incomprehensible it can appear, the date of birthday of the Christ is unknown ". (Vol. 3, p. 655) The origin of Christmas In the Nelson's Encyclopedia, it is said that December 25 th was " of heathen origin, otherwise sun... The Saturnalia of Romans preceded it ". " The day of the ancient holiday of Sol-Invictus (to celebrate the birth of the god-sun). ( Americana Encyclopedia) " Saturnalia (a holiday of enjoyment without restraint)... Vol. 2, p. 265. " The church... returning to the paganism... wishing more festivities, added Christian names to heathen holidays ... The church established Christian festivities, so named, to replace heathen... so paganizing the Christendom to satisfy their carnal thoughts ". Augustine tells that the people were so determined to have their holidays, that the clergy pretended to see nothing! AMP So the tradition emanating of the " god of this world " (2 Corinthians 4:4), appeared from the paganism, was transplanted in the Christendom by fathers unfaithful predecessors, and was developed by the church of Rome, " Babylon the great, the mother of the abominations " (Revelation 17:5). As of children led to believe in Santa Claus, the Christendom was deceived by her " blind guides, leading the blind". Anointed One). 19 They are doomed and their fate is eternal misery (perdition); their god is their stomach (their appetites, their sensuality) and they glory in their shame, siding with earthly things and being of their party. AMP It is " an another Jesus ", a popular Jesus adapted to the world! The spirit of Christmas is not of the Holy Spirit, but is " the another spirit " (2 Corinthians 11:4). " The spirit of the world " (1 Corinthians 2:12) " is not of the Father, but is of the world " (1 John 2:16) 2 Corinthians 11:4 4 For [you seem readily to endure it] if a man comes and preaches another Jesus than the One we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the [Spirit] you [once] received or a
different gospel from the one you [then] received and welcomed; you tolerate [all that] well enough! AMP 1 Corinthians 2:12 12 Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God. AMP 1 John 2:16 16 For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one's own resources or in the stability of earthly things] — these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].
AMP A heartless worldWhen Christ, God shown in flesh, was born, the world had no place for him (Luke 2:7). " He is disdained and abandoned by the people " he was despised, and we esteemed him not. (Isaiah 53:3). They shouted: Away with him, away with him, crucify him. (John 19:15). " And having crucified him " (Matthew 27:35). Luke 2:7 7 And she gave birth to her Son, her Firstborn; and she wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room or place for them in the inn. AMP Isaiah 53:3 3 He was despised and rejected
and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him. AMP John 19:15 15 But they shouted, Away with Him! Away with Him! Crucify Him! Pilate said to them, Crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar! AMP Matthew 27:35 35 And when they had crucified Him, they divided and distributed His garments [among them] by casting lots so that the prophet's saying was fulfilled, They parted My garments among them and over My apparel they cast lots. [Psalms 22:18.] AMP This world is guilty of the murder of the Son of GodHaving got rid of Him, they are now delighted " and make festivities, and they will send presents some in the others " (Revelation 11:10). It is the same principle as to decorate the sepulchres of the prophets that their fathers killed (Matthew 23:29,31). Or, as if Cain, having assassinated his brother, had made of Abel's born birthday, one day of special festivities! So the world which rejects Christ made the annual big event of the imaginary day of the Holy Son of God! They take and desecrate his blessed Name to give way to their carnal pleasures: " the Eternal will not consider as innocent the one who will have taken His Name in vain " (Exodus 20:7). Revelation 11:10 10 And those who dwell on the earth will gloat and exult over them and
rejoice exceedingly, taking their ease and sending presents [in congratulation] to one another, because these two prophets had been such a vexation and trouble and torment to all the dwellers on the earth. AMP Matthew 23:29 29 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, pretenders (hypocrites)! For you build tombs for the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, AMP Matthew 23:31 31 Thus you are testifying against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. AMP Exodus 20:7 7 You shall not use or repeat the name of the Lord your God in vain [that is, lightly or
frivolously, in false affirmations or profanely]; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. AMP Be careful, vain world. " Be not deceived; God is not mocked " (Galatians 6:7). Because He will soon ask for more of the blood of His Son. Galatians 6:7 7 Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. AMP That hurts us to see unfaithful entering cheerfully the holiday without any consciousness of their sins and
without affection for the Savior. The same thing maybe said of the professant mass baptized which is never passed by the death in the life (John 5:24; 1 John 3:14). But it hurts to see those who are ''children of light " (Ephesians 5:8; 14-17; Philippians 2:15; 1 Thessalonicians 5: 5-10; 1 Peter 2:9) in the ignorance of this tradition, taken by the wave, trying to take the best - maybe by using some verse of God's Word, or meeting the needs of the poors, or singing Christmas carols (Deuteronomy 12:8; Romans 12:2). John 5:24 24 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the person whose ears are open to My words [who listens to My message] and believes and trusts in and clings to and relies on Him Who sent Me has (possesses now) eternal life. And he does not come into judgment [does not incur sentence of judgment, will
not come under condemnation], but he has already passed over out of death into life. AMP 1 John 3:14 14 We know that we have passed over out of death into Life by the fact that we love the brethren (our fellow Christians). He who does not love abides (remains, is held and kept continually) in [spiritual] death. AMP Ephesians 5:8 8 For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light]. AMP Ephesians 5:14-17 14 Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you
and give you light. [Isaiah 26:19; 60:1,2.] 15 Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), 16 Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is. AMP Philippians 2:15 15 That you may show yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted and
perverse], among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly) in the [dark] world, AMP 1 Thessalonians 5:5-10 5 For you are all sons of light and sons of the day; we do not belong either to the night or to darkness. 6 Accordingly then, let us not sleep, as the rest do, but let us keep wide awake (alert, watchful, cautious, and on our guard) and let us be sober (calm, collected, and circumspect). 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But we belong to the day; therefore, let us be sober and put on the breastplate (corslet) of faith and love and for a helmet the hope of salvation.
9 For God has not appointed us to [incur His] wrath [He did not select us to condemn us], but [that we might] obtain [His] salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) 10 Who died for us so that whether we are still alive or are dead [at Christ's appearing], we might live together with Him and share His life. AMP Romans 12:2 2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. AMP A single holiday in the Christian calendarThe Lord has never asked us to celebrate annually his birth nor to celebrate annually his resurrection, but he
expressed His desire that we celebrate the memorial of His death. Every first day of the week (Acts 20:7), the day of His resurrection, the day of the new creation, supplies suitably the occasion to those who are new creatures in Christ to meet in His invaluable Name only (Matthew 18:20), outside the camp (systems adapted to what pleases the man) (Hebrews 13:13), to announce " the death of the Lord until He comes " " do this... in memory of Me " (1 Corinthians 11:25-26). Acts 20:7 7 And on the first day of the week, when we were assembled together to break bread [the Lord's Supper], Paul discoursed with them, intending to leave the next morning; and he kept on with his message until midnight. wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I AM in the midst of them. [Exodus 3:14.] AMP Hebrews 13:13 13 Let us then go forth [from all that would prevent us] to Him outside the camp [at Calvary], bearing the contempt and abuse and shame with Him. Fwd: WILDERNESS TRAININGI am also thinking about the physical wilderness training here because of the soon coming persecution (not the 7 years tribulation) falling upon America and Canada. In other words, this message is very good for the spiritual wilderness training as well as the physical wilderness training. Trust more God than the government and if you think you are more secure in a big city, you are wrong to say the least. I know nothing for now about the physical wilderness training but I most definitively want to learn it and I'll find a way to do so. It defines "violent radicalism" as "adopting or promoting an extremist belief system for the purpose of facilitating ideologically based violence to advance political, religious, or social change." The term "extremist belief system" is not defined; it could refer to liberalism, nationalism, socialism, anarchism, communism, etc. "Ideologically based violence" is defined in the bill as the "use, planned use, or threatened use of force or violence by a group or individual to promote the group or individual's political, religious, or social beliefs." Thus, "force" and "violence" are used interchangeably. If a group of people blocked the doorway of a corporation that manufactured weapons, or blocked a sidewalk during an anti-war demonstration, it might constitute the use of "force" to promote "political beliefs." The bill charges that the Internet "has aided in facilitating violent radicalization, ideologically based violence, and the homegrown terrorism process in the United States by providing access to broad and constant streams of terrorist-related propaganda to United States citizens." The New School Baptists believed, like our author, in free will and a general atonement (Andrew Fuller was one of them). The Old School Baptists held that God determines whatsoever comes to pass (no human free will) and that Christ died for only the elect. Gilbert Beebe and Samuel Trott are examples of Old School Baptists. Anyways, David Cloud's scholarship is greatly lacking here, but we will see later that he doesn't care much for knowledge. He accuses Calvin of being "unsound" in his foundation. Calvin claimed that the foundation of all doctrine is Scripture Alone. Is David Cloud here attacking the infallibility of Scripture? Some adherents to human free will do acknowledge that the Bible has mistakes and contradictions in it. Calvinism claims that the Bible is the Axiom of Christianity and it has no mistakes or contradictions. The Bible is infallible and inerrant. He accuses Calvin of "Baptismal Regeneration". If you read the "Institutes of the Christian Religion", apparently David has not, then you would see that Calvin speaks of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as being that which applies Christ's redemption. Calvin rejects the Catholic view of Baptismal regeneration. In book IV, chapter 15, section 1, page 513 of the Beveridge Edition, Calvin writes, "Baptism is the initiatory sign by which we are admitted to the fellowship of the Church." Calvin teaches that Baptism is a sign, not the thing signified. When people intentionally misrepresent Calvin, then we have to correct them. Commenting on 1 Peter 3:21 Calvin writes, "For he did not mean to intimate that our ablution and salvation are perfected by water, or that water possesses in itself the virtue of purifying, regenerating, and renewing; nor does he mean that it is the cause of salvation" (ibid, page 513). David Cloud makes the claim that Calvin had men executed for not accepting his view of the Lord's Supper. I've read for years on Calvin, but never this. David gives no citation, so I guess we are simply to believe him. He is probably lying. The claim that Calvin had Servetus executed has been distorted for centuries by Calvin's enemies. It was a counsel that condemned Servetus to death. Calvin actually tried to talk them out of it. Calvin did not have political control over the government of Geneva. He was even banished once by the counsel. So you can see that Calvin didn't always get listened to in Geneva. You can read about it in The Works Of Benjamin B. Warfield, Volume 5, chapter 1, page 3. One funny thing I will point out in David Cloud's paper is when he claims that he has never completely agreed with any man's theology. Let's look at a syllogism and see what this implies. 1) David Cloud is one who never completely agrees with anyone's theology 2) David Cloud is one who has a theology 3) Therefore, David Cloud is one who never completely agrees with his own theology. Just thought I would point that out. David Cloud claims that Calvin was a philosopher by training. This is a false claim. Calvin was trained in law. See Warfield's work "John Calvin: The Man And His Work". It is in volume V of Warfield's works. David Cloud makes an enormous mistake when he claims that the Bible is against philosophy. He cites Colossians 2:8. If you read the verse carefully, then you will see that it is warning against philosophy that is other than what the Bible teaches. Paul is warning people to not follow any philosophy that is "after the tradition men...and not after Christ." Though many today have never heard it from our Arminian pulpits in this nation, there is a Christian philosophy. The Bible teaches a comprehensive epistemology, metaphysics, ethics, politics, economics, and so on. David Cloud tries to twist Ephesians 1:11 from meaning that God has decreed whatsoever comes to pass. The verse clearly states that whatever happens is purposed by God and brought to pass by God's counsel. Notice there is no mention here of man's counsel as having a hand in the execution of God's purposes. God's counsel is called the "determinate counsel" in Acts 2:23, but David conveniently left that interesting detail out. David Cloud makes a real effort to not say that he believes in human free will in this paper, but he asserts this everywhere. The reason he tries not to openly say this is because he will instantly be labled an Arminian or a Pelagian. Anyways, he claims that God wills all men, regardless of election or reprobation, to be saved. You can make this claim, though the Bible does not, but if you make this claim, then you need to explain how this claim does not contradict the fact that most people are not saved. How can an omnipotent God not accomplish the task of saving His creatures? Wasn't he strong enough? This is where David needs desperately to introduce his humanist theory of free will. Where does the Bible ever teach that man has free will apart from God? There is not even one verse that teaches that man has free will. David Cloud attempts to smuggle the humanist theory of free will into the Bible by claiming that "God gives man a choice." What God does is command sinful men to keep the law and believe the Gospel. God's command that we be perfect, does not imply that we can be, but rather, it demonstrates that we can not be perfect. Some people have grasped the Pelagian philosophy and concluded that we can be perfect in this life--Thomas Richards for example. We can not keep God's law for we are sinners. Commands do not imply ability. The idea that commands imply ability is Pelagianism. A general can command a single soldier to walk on the water, but this does not imply that the soldier can. We command our children to be good, but does this imply that they can be? Not according to Paul (Romans 3:10-12). Arminians like to present imperative verses as proof of free will, but what they do not understand is that you can not deduce from a command. A command tells you what you OUGHT to do, but it does not tell you what you CAN do. Big difference. Martin Luther's work "The Bondage Of The Will" is excellent on this point. At one point, David Cloud attacks the intellect by claiming that if you have a vocabulary greater than the third grade, then there must be something wrong with you. This is an attack on education and knowledge. If you enter into the field of law, do you expect that you will do well if you never learn the legal vocabulary? You will not pass the bar. The Bible has its vocabulary, and there are many terms that have been developed to represent doctrines the Bible teaches. For example, the Trinity is one such term. The word is not found in the Bible, but the Bible teaches that there is one God and three persons in the Godhead. Does David Cloud not believe in the Trinity? Why would he attack Christian vocabulary then? Finally, David Cloud doesn't want to be called an Arminian. He says he can not be labled as one. Well, Shakespeare said it best: a rose by any other name is still the same. There is plenty more to refute, but I have responsibilities to attend to. They saw him dangling on the tail of the aircraft. He had pulled his chute too soon. There were just so many things (like) being hungry and knowing that people cared enough that they shared their food with you. That shows kindness and love … And then there was another thing. (At the prison camp) you were told you were not to jump out of a window. If you did, you'd be shot. One evening about 6 o'clock I heard a rifle shot. I ran out of the barracks to the barracks to my left. I ran over there, and I looked down, and there was a young kid on the ground, face down, dead. He had made a mistake. Joseph L. Dickerson (Korean War): I'll always remember when the shells were
falling all around me when we were going up that dang hill. I was scared. It felt like somebody just picked up a big piece of dirt next to you, and then you hear the noise. It was at night, so you couldn't see. But there were just big flashes of explosions. I can't forget that. Maj. Jason "Tank" Sherman (Iraq and Afghanistan): One thing I'll always remember are the mass casualty evacuations of the Canadian (soldiers) after they had gotten hit. A guy on a bicycle rode by with a bomb on him and blew it up. We were sitting on the ground (in a helicopter). We were the last one getting most of the people. And there were these two girls that we were wanting to take. And I just remember sitting on the ground pretty much begging the Apache pilot overhead to tell the tech operations center that we need to take these kids. And just the feelings going through thinking they weren't going to let us take them, and we were going to have
to leave them there to die. Patrick Ratterman (Desert Storm): Probably right around the same lines as Tank — seeing children get injured. Those little cluster bombs that were dropped look like a ball, and kids just love a ball. They will pick it up and play with it. They'll bounce it and throw it back and forth to each other. It looks like a baseball (only) it's made out of metal with an explosive core. It's the most inhumane weapon we used in the Gulf. And there's still a bunch of them there today. There were just hundreds of those around the village of Safwan, Iraq, where we kind of ended up. The one moment I'll never forget? Hearing a bang, and looking off to my left and seeing a little boy, a 9-year-old, who basically had his face removed. It turned out he and his buddy were just playing with a "ball." Q. Overall, did
your life improve or worsen because of your military experience? Patrick Ratterman (Desert Storm): I think initially it worsened to the point of a nervous breakdown a couple years ago. That's what it took to get me to the VA to get some help. But with the help the VA is giving me, I am seeing improvement in my life now. I'm very proud of my service and, looking back on it, it did throw a wrench in my life considerably. I had a nice job with the state when I left. I was working with delinquent kids, and then (after the trauma experienced in the war) that led into a series of jobs, each one worse than the next. Even with that in mind, I still wouldn't change a thing. I'm glad I went. Maj. Jason "Tank" Sherman (Iraq and Afghanistan): I'd have to say it improved because I came home from the last one, got my wife pregnant and had
my third child, so I guess that's an improvement. I've figured I've served my country, which makes me feel better. Probably the only negative is I'm really not too tolerant of people who whine and complain about little inconveniences in their life. The last time I was with the 10th Mountain unit — that was their third 10-month deployment to a combat zone with kids at home. Injured soldiers compared to, "Oh, I can't go out to eat this weekend." It kind of puts the world in perspective for you. I also think my life would be different if there hadn't been a war because the job I hold now with the reserves was vacated by a guy who deployed, and when he came back he said he can't deploy anymore, so he quit the job. So I probably would still be on active duty, but as far as a person it gave me a better respect for what the veterans before me had gone through.
Gary Shepard (Vietnam War): It's probably worse in some ways overall. But there have been some good things, too. I know where I am going when I die. And that's a pretty good thing to know. Joseph L. Dickerson (Korean War): It improved. But it took me 50 years to get diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. And it took me 50 years to get (my purple heart and other medals). The VFW had to get them for me. When I went to Korea there was a lot of action, and my company had just come off a hill, and they lost three-quarters of the guys. The paperwork just didn't follow me. And then when I was in a hospital healing from my wound, they found I had jaundice because I had drank some of the water from one of the wells going through a village. But overall, I learned a lot and got jobs I wouldn't have

Chip in Your Future?By Heather Sells CBN News December 3, 2007 CBNNews.com - There's a growing movement to forcibly tag or chip your animals with radio frequency identification devices. Many privacy advocates believe this could lead to a scarier level: implanting you and me. Now, there is an effort to stem the tide. Introducing NAIS Greg Niewendorp raises cattle in northern Michigan. Time in the saddle is one of the best parts of the day for this fifth generation farmer. But these days, he's spending lots of time holed up in his home office. Why? Niewendorp and other small farmers are fighting the government's plans to identify and track every single farm animal in the country. Human Implants: Are We Ready? It's called NAIS or National Animal Identification System. "Our primary interest is protecting the food supply by having a rapid system that can reach out and address the needs for the primary food animals," said USDA Undersecretary Bruce Knight. On October 8, Michigan AG officials arrived on Niewendorp's farm with a search warrant. But Niewendorp refused to allow them to put RFID tags on his cattle and the state chipped his entire herd. Pressure forced Niewendorp to give in that day, but his story spread rapidly in farming circles -making him "the face" of a grass-roots opposition movement. "The tag goes in the ear. They give me a premises I.D. number. Now they've got a national number on my cattle, a national number on my land. I might still technically own the animal but they're controlling what I can and can't do with it," he said. While this may be the law in Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana, the USDA insists the federal identification program is not mandatory. Knight said, "It can, it should and it will work on a voluntary basis." Still, privacy experts say many USDA programs already require an NAIS number. And small farmers like Virginian Scott Wilson worry about the cost of buying tags and tracking animals. "To be effective they're going to need 100 percent participation in this program and that is really going to put an undue burden on us as small farmers," Wilson said. The USDA wants to be able to track animals quickly in the event of a disease outbreak. It believes NAIS will do that and help encourage confidence in the safety of our food supply - in the eyes of both consumers and global markets. Like It or Not, NAIS is Fast Becoming Reality More than 1.5 million RFID tags are spread across some 400,000 farms today.The USDA is now accepting bids for an additional million and a half tags. The latest development: ? The USDA has approved implantable RFID devices for livestock. Pets aren't supposed to be part of this program, but activist Barb Haywood is not so sure. She and others in the dog world say mandatory pet chipping is already happening in many communities. "A microchip is not a benign device. A microchip is a data collection device - a data collection device that's designed not just to collect data on your dog - but you," Haywood said. Haywood fears the government and pet companies will use the information to enforce policies and sell products. Right now, pet chipping is the law in places like unincorporated Los Angeles country, Stockton, California and El Paso, Texas. Pet chip companies emphasize the joy of chips helping to reunite lost pets with their families. But privacy expert Katherine Albrecht wonders how many pet owners know about the cancer studies she recently uncovered. The studies show chip implants that caused malignant tumors in lab rats and mice. "It may not be such a good idea to force people to chip their family companions when there may be even a slight chance that there's a cancer link there," said Albrecht. What about the 'Human' Implant Market? Another concern is that animal implants may speed up the growth of the human implant market. That's because Digital Angel, a major manufacturer of animal chips, is owned by the same company that makes the human implant, Verichip. Since the FDA approved Verichip in 2004, it has set up shop in more than 900 hospitals. Verichip assures patients that in a medical emergency, a simple wave of a scanner could correctly identify them and their medical information. But Verichip is working through health concerns of its own. Susan Byrne received her chip in July, and says her arm still hurts. "The next day, that's when I really felt discomfort. I felt like I was having an injection 24/7 - like the needle was still in my arm," Byme said. She says Verichip told her she was the first patient to ask that her chip be removed. But Byme is skeptical, and Verichip did not respond to CBN News' calls on the subject. Opponents of the Verichip also worry that human implants will one day be mandatory. "There is actually a growing concern that an HMO or an employer could actually require a person to be micro-chipped to get insurance or to keep a job," Albrecht said. So far, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and California have all passed laws forbidding the mandatory chipping of people. But for many animals, it may be too late. "We're a very small voice right now going against the tide saying, 'Hey, this doesn't make sense,' Wilson said. What makes sense to both sides is safety. It seems, though, that no one can agree.
